According to Raw Story, the United States National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell is creating plans for a new policy that would make us all forget the debates about warrantless wiretaps. According to the article, the new policy would allow the United States Government access to read any email that you send and see any web search that you may perform.

As many of you may already know, it is fairly easy for someone wishing to intercept your email to do so, but for the United States to put this into policy would have a huge impact on the way email and the internet is used. No longer can you assume that the email you just sent to your lawyer or doctor won’t be captured by the government. And, if that happens, chances are high that some hacker somewhere will gain access to the storage of these emails and have them posted if he so chooses.
