Create PDFs quicky for FREE!

September 24th, 2007 by Jeff

Websites everywhere use the ubiquitous PDF format for their documents. PDFs are portable across multiple operating systems and almost anyone is able to view these documents that are stored in the PDF file format. How does one create a PDF? In the past, you would need to buy Adobe Acrobat before you could create PDF documents. However, there are now free alternatives that work as good, if not better than Adobe Acrobat. One such tool is CutePDF.

CutePDF is a product of ACRO software. Acro Software has been developing and publishing productivity software, development kits and custom solutions focusing on Portable Document Format (PDF) and Electronic Forms since 1998. Acro’s mission is to provide end-users and developers high quality, easy-to-use and most affordable PDF and electronic forms utilities and solutions. The company was established in September 1998 when they launched their first product AcroForm.

All you need to do to begin creating PDF documents for FREE is to navigate to CutePDF Writer’s Download Page, and download the software. Once you have downloaded it, you can install it in under 5 minutes.

Once you have CutePDF Writer installed, open your document in your favorite program, Microsoft Word for example, and click “File->Print”. In your list of available printers, you should now see “CutePDF Writer” listed. Select “CutePDF Writer” and then click print. A window will open and ask you where to save your newly created PDF document. Once you select where to save the document, your PDF will be created and is ready to be emailed, copied, printed, or anything else you wish to do with the document.
